The Rynek Underground Museum takes you below the modern city and into the archaeological remains of medieval Krakow. Explore preserved structures, historic artifacts, former trading areas, and remnants of the city’s streets.

Multimedia presentations and interactive elements help recreate the atmosphere of medieval Krakow and explain how the city developed over the centuries.

Day 2 — Wieliczka Salt Mine, Lunch & Schindler’s Story

A professional guide from the mine will introduce you to the history of salt extraction and the lives of the miners who worked beneath Wieliczka for generations.

One of the highlights is the magnificent Chapel of St. Kinga, featuring impressive salt sculptures, chandeliers, and decorations created by the miners themselves.

Return to Krakow / 30 min

Return to Krakow by organized transportation before continuing with the afternoon program.

Schindler’s Story – Podgórze & Kazimierz / approx. 2 hours / Walking Tour

Finish your Krakow experience with a guided walking tour inspired by the real events behind Schindler’s List.

Follow a route through Podgórze and Kazimierz, visiting genuine historical locations as well as places used during the filming of Steven Spielberg’s famous movie.

The tour begins outside Oskar Schindler’s former factory on Lipowa Street.

Please note: the factory is viewed from the outside only. Entry to the Schindler Factory Museum is not included.

During the walk, learn how Schindler used his factory and personal influence to employ and protect Jewish workers during the Nazi occupation. Discover the history of the Krakow Ghetto, forced relocations, survival, and the destruction of the city’s prewar Jewish community.

The route continues through locations associated with Schindler’s List and then leads into Kazimierz, the historic heart of Krakow’s Jewish community before the war.

The tour ends on Szeroka Street, surrounded by historic synagogues and important reminders of Krakow’s Jewish heritage. Your guide will explain the role of Kazimierz before the war and why the district became one of the key locations used to recreate wartime Krakow in the film.
